Not much going on right now in MSWM. A couple of re-released planes. They do have a Q&A session going on with the MSWM plane artist (follow link above). Last that I checked, there were 71 questions and only 5 responses (cmon Gurtperk, are ya THAT busy?).
I think that there is a need for more of these Q&A sessions, they are a good way to let the community know whats going on for this game. Talking about the plane art is cool, but a Q&A on future upgrades, fixes, measures being taken against hacks, etc... are what most players would REALLY like to talk about, I believe.
We also want to learn more about the moderator of the metalstorm forum, October Reigns. Heh October, what do you do for Z2? Don't be shy!
I think this game is just plain boring now. Yet, I find myself at this blog every once in awhile in hopes as to the game somehow redeeming its failure.
ReplyDeleteThe game just seems to repetitive (23k SR). I don't know how people continue to play this game with anything above 30k SR. In all honesty, this game just isn't fun anymore, it seems more and more of a chore to log-on and to go into the same typical matches that are extremely predictable and/or boring. I find myself after every time I play this game, asking "What will this game do for me? Other than wasting my time."

More credit planes should please most people :p

ReplyDeleteAnd don't just do the cheap 65 coin planes. make the game ofline as well. Otherwise there is almost no point in playing.
Does anyone know how you can get custom profile icons not found in the selection list? If it is a hack, then I guess there must be plenty of hackers online.
ReplyDeleteI may be wrong on this but I think custom profile pictures where allowed when this game first came out and was titled Metalstorm online or whatever the title was. When this game became MetalStorm Wingman Z2 removed that feature.

It should be that way but I met a guy who was very probably new to the game (his SR was about 3,5k with 300 games played) and his profile icon was customed. I have seen some [SV] guys too (like our Stan the Man). Please, Stanley, if you could tell us how you made it, we'd be really greatful (I am able to hack my SR but I don't really have idea on how to custom my profile pic).

this names needs new levels, new missions, co-op vs matches, less lag and BETTER spawning points, NOT NEW PLANES!!

DeleteI don't need that many planes to show that I'm a 'good' pilot. Heck; all I ever use now in versus is the wraith/Dragon.
Too many to list here. I'm just a plane hoarder. I fly all at once a day.

ReplyDeleteOops I hit publish before I can complete my. Attack I think it's debatetable, between the RW and warlock. But I got the warlock. For agi - think the best is the spectre or the reaper though I think the coming soon agi plane will overtake all. I don't have a good agi plane but my d21 falcon helped me quite well in dogfights. DeleteI'd say dragon for defense RW or sky demon for weapons and reaper or striker for agility.
Deletethe only plane I'm truly terrified of in versus, is the Spectre.
Deletethough most of the time I'm flying my wraith, and it's not much of a fight. But I do manage to only lose by one point.
fave Defense plane is the Dragon, fave weapons is the wraith/Hawken, I don't have a fave agility however.

It will become popular again in about 15-25 years, when our generation has forgotten about it. It will come back and be 'new' but it will most likely go by a new name.
And I also understand the fear of getting your account hacked. I'll bet it happens alot. No security measures can truly protect from a determined hacker.

ReplyDeleteI'll never get another agility class, I stink at that class of plane. I think it looks beast though.
ReplyDeleteIt should rightly be a defense class, as the F-117 in real life was the first stealth bomber.
I have it but haven't upgraded it fully yet. One thing I find odd is that it has no flame from the thrusters. Is this how it is in real life?
ReplyDeleteI think it uses turbines in real-life, not thrusters so you wouldn't see any flames. Btw, tell me how good the Striker is because I am planning to buy it.
DeleteThe f117 is a stealth fighter-hot engine exhaust would make it vulnerable to heat-seeking missiles. That is why engineers designed it with no afterburners (it's not a fighter jet so why would you need afterburners anyway?), and used what I believe are heat trapping materials around the engine exhaust...

Thanks Michael for the explanation. What makes it different from the Sky Demon that is also a stealth aircraft? It has hot engine exhaust. Just curious wouldn't it be vulnerable to hot seeking missiles?
